Default gsr rod bearings on b16 rods

Alright guys, I don't often post on honda-tech (usualy browse) but I'm in need of someone elses higher knowledge.

I went to my local acura dealer asking about gsr rod bearings and he asked me what year the gsr engine was from. (A tech there said they vary slightly, which doesn't make sense to me, since I figured it would for all the gsr years).

So my question is: do I go ahead and order what ever gsr rod bearings? Or is there a specific year that matches the b16a2 bearings?

Thanks guys

get 94+ gsr rod bearings and re-tang your b16 rods on the other side to gsr spec

Already know I have to get 94+ gsr bearings. My question is, what color code is the standard clearance bearing?
There pink, green, red, yellow, blue etc etc. So would anyone have a chart with the clearance for each color code, or know which one is the standard size.

Thanks

Honda factory clearance is 0.0015".

Knowing alone will not help you. You need to read the codes on the crank and the rods to determine the correct bearing size. Unfortunately all other honda sites with this information are blocked, so I can't post the site that will show how to do this. Get a copy of the Helms manual and you will be able to figure out the correct bearing.

One other thing you could do is take the crank and rods to a machinist and have them measure the crank journals and rod bearing races then using Earls chart you can determine the bearing most suited for your application.

Here's is Earl's thread.

This is one the best threads ever. Earl was one of the smartest honda persons ever, I could go on.
