help please.........what ecu to use on 95 civic with D16y7 engine?
Hi, I am about to swap a d16y7 into my obd1 civic. What ecu do I need for this? It has z6 in it right now and it's going bad, so I swapping it out for the y7 just to get around.
thanks for the help guys.

P06 92-95 Honda DX/LX (D15B7), you'll probably want to swap your Z6 intake and exhaust manifold on there as well to make it easier for wiring. You can use the Y7 distributor but you'll need a dizzy jumper for OBD2a/b to OBD1. You'll also want to use your Z6 alternator if it will bolt on. You'll have an extra sensor by the crank pulley for the CKF, just leave it hanging as you won't need it.
shoot just slap the z6 head on the y7 and call it a day. you already have to swap everything else over. might as well replace the h/g any ways since you SHOULD be replacing other gaskets and timing belt... right? that way you can keep your p28 in there, and still enjoy your vtec. lol
Not trying to steal the spotlight here but I'm still under the trial user thing so I can't start my own thread. But I need some help!
I have a 96 civic dx coupe (d16y7, obd2a)
I have an ls ecu that I'm trying to put in it (p75, obd1)
And I'm also trying to swap out my y7 IM with a z6 IM.
I know I need an obd2a-obd1 jumper harness for the ecu but
What would else would I need for this? I'm pretty new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
