Whenever I drive on pretty much any road my cd skips, like it can't handle any shock and its really annoying. Does anyone know what is contributing to this? I thought it could've been my tires so I checked them and they seem to be okay. Thanks

 

Had the same problem......... it was the crappy cd-r

 

OEM radios are picky about CD-Rs.
another cause could be dirty lens (laser).

 

Is it the stock head unit? If not maybe it's poorly mounted and recieving excess vibration. If it is the stock HU, are you under warranty?

Otherwise, if you're feeling ambitious, take it apart and clean the pick-up with a q-tip and alcohol. If you're still having problems either replace the pickup or buy a new HU.

I always think that it's the CD...but on my girlfriend's LS..her CD player just went out...it won't play any CDs anymore...anyone know why?

 

Could be dirty but it could also be the laser or some electrical connection within the unit.
