D16z6 . . . No compression
I tried to search this but did not come up with much.
I bought a 95 civic from my friend for cheap and he said that he thinks it needs a new timing belt. So i buy it and then do a compression test . . .
. . . no good
90. . . 0 . . 0 . . 0
is what came up, so we didn't even try to do it again cause it sounded so bad.
So we double check the timing and the timing belt and it was all good but still nothing.
We are gunna do a wet test tomorrow but i know it ain't going to be good. When i try to start the car it sounds as if the cylinders are dry and it is just scratching. . . its horrible
any info or ideas?

engine sounds pretty toast to me
did this friend mention what happenened to leave it in its current state? if you're replacing the timing belt that would lead me to believe it probably snapped. and if that happened then the engine is definitely fubared. they are interference type and when the belt snaps the pistons make contact with the valves. sometimes you get lucky and the belt breaks at a point where the valves are all high enough that no damage is done.. but you've already done the compression test and determined that it's all kinds of muffed up.

ya my friend said he drove home from school, then the next morning when he tried to start the car it wouldnt start, so i dunno i got screwed, the belt wasnt even snapped
Took the head off and . . . . the head gasket is fine, the valves visually look to be good too. But i might bring it in to get leak tested. The tops of the pistons were fine, so the valves have not been hitting the pistons.
I don't know what to do now.
