1990 crx ef8 build
ok so i dont have a honda but one of my buddies do and so as ive had some turbo experience i guess he thought i could help with his build.
what hes wanting is 300hp reliably and he wants it to be n/a and i know this can be done but price wise and reliablity wise it would be fairly expensive so i told him going boosted would probabbly be cheaper in the long run..
what would you guys recomend to acheive this goal??? I.E. different motor swaps both na and boosted and the drawbacks and cost

stock a d-series will not see 300 without exploding. you'd have to build it. your other option is to swap in an ls (cheapest b-series engine) and boost that. they can handle 300whp stock just fine.
hey thanks for the help....oh wait I mean suck a dick...

that post was of absolutely no help
now to D16SiHatch thanks for the reply..
now what exactly is a "LS" ive heard many times but I dont know what engine that is.
Im guessing if i remember that means it dosent have vtec right?? and also would that mean a b16?
What he was trying to say is, do some research. Theres so many people asking what engine would best for x amount of horsepower and be cheapest.
But yes LS is a b18a1 and b18b1 They are non-vtec, boosted they can handle 300 whp safely, and reliably on a fresh engine, with a good tune. But if you boost something with over 120k you might run into problems, gotta make sure its fresh, Does NOT burn oil at all. They are also pretty cheap, 250-400 bucks.
Hope this helps.
