Why do you wish to waste so much money?

As long as you know you're purchasing solely for looks. Do not expect a performance gain from this.

Yeah but you pay a lot for something that just looks good and has no more function than an aluminum pipe, Preludes don't gain anything really from intake kits so it's a waste to spend a lot on one.

Not necessarily true
heres a link to an old honda tuning showing gains from intake , header, and exhaust on a stock h23 non vtec..
The AEM cold air gained 2.8 hp and 3.1 tq on average and peaked at 7HP on a motor that had 240,xxx miles...not too bad if you ask me
Heres the last quote from the Honda Tuning article

CONCLUSION
"We were surprised at how well the Prelude performed with the bolt-ons. At 6200 rpm the Prelude made an additional 19.4 horsepower with the bolt-ons versus with stock units in place. From all the normally aspirated vehicles we have tested at ImportTuner, we have never seen a vehicle make as much power as the Prelude."

I'm not going to assume he has an H23 vs an H22.

Yeah but that's on an H23a1, I used to have that motor and yeah it does do very well with even the most basic bolt on but the H22a is a different story. I think from the old thread on intakes the stock unit with a K&N drop in did just as good as everything else. Even if you do want to get one just buy a cheap ebay one and put a better filter on it and it will do just as good for way less.

Do you have anything to back up what you said?

from the looks of that design. it would seem that the velocity entering the tb/im would be increased due to large diameter tapering to small.

Sure. Use the search feature. Pretty much every intake out there has been tested.
