I think it could be the neutral safety switch an way to check this out with out doing a lot of part swapping

 

umm soo the lil button has no affect?? the switch just grounds the starter signal..it wouldnt keep the shifter from moving

 

I am afraid they are interlocked because I can manually over ride and with both happening after coming out of the dentist office seems to be to much of a coincedence

 

Parking pawl is stuck, rock the car back and forth while someone plays with the shifter. This happens alot when you park on a hill and don't use your Parking brake. The pawl wears and a groove forms in it until it can no longer be withdrawn.

 

when i bought my car the guy told me he baught a new battery for it cuz it would'nt start nor would it get out of park.

can it be that?

 

WHAT would a battery have to do with shifting gears? the no start problem was proly due to the gearshift being in park and the neautral switch acting up. i love how ppl always seem to try to fix things by buying a new battery lol ..you can test things like a battery

 

well i'm not saying that is the problem....its what the guy that sold me my ef told me, it was to make ppl lol hahaha
