Post HELP ASAP BRAKE PROBLEM...

Hi my neighbor got a 1992 honda civic 4 door that has a brake problem. he rides the car and idk if it safe to drive.

need the car fixed.

First of all the car had the master cylinder changed for some reason 6 or 5 months ago. the master cylinder is somewhat new,
but he says every time he drives press the brakes the pedal travels and slowly travels all the way down. needs to pump it several times still don't stop the car.
if he preses the brakes the car dont come to stops as before. He says he added fluid checked and no signs of any leaks.

I notice when i had the key off, i press the pedal it dosen't get as firm like my other car and holds in place.
If i press the brake pedal w/out key off it sometimes goes to the floor but sometimes hold in place. is it check valve idk.

Is it the booster, idk check valve, also the master cylinder is new he said but ididnt install that.

weird the master cyliner was changed months ago and now it has brake pedal problems????

IDK,.

edit note, when pressing the brake pedal and looking at the master cylinder reservoir seems the fluid is moving (squirting fluid moving)? is it normal

I had that same problem when my brake booster was bad.

First, try bleeding your brakes on all four bleeders to see if there is any air. If no air is present, replace that deffective master cylinder. of course bench bleed it first.
