Hi honda-tech. This year i am going to change things up a bit here. I got a spear b16a head that i will be builting for the motor because my gsr head is stock and i can't rev pass 8000rpm do to risk of breaking valve/retainer ect.

Plans for the head and new set up will be. (answer my question if you know whats better)
Hot tank/mill head

Do i need a vented Valve cover for oil?

My goal is to hit 500whp at 20psi to 22 psi.
Anything i am missing can you guys tell me.

I guess I'm missing the question here. What ideas or thoughts are you looking for? You have a tried and true setup that seems very robust. Was there something more you were considering?

What would the head have anything to do with how much power the car is making? Your on e85, turn the boost up if u want 500whp.

If your tuner thinks u should keep the boost at no more then 17psi because the valvetrain is stock, id be looking for another tuner.

And why are u only reving a GSR to 8k? Arent they factory limited to like 7800 or 8k? I rev my ****ing COMPLETELY STOCK valvetrain H to 8400 in a gear or 2.

your tuner may not be an inexperienced one or he is seeing or knows something that you might not know about your setup

he said 17psi because he was scare my stock valve would break. i dont blame him on this either because there stock and i dont wanna push them more then 8000rpm.

We stop at 8k because i didnt want to take a chance of the valve/retainer breaking causing my whole motor to go. the factory limited at 8200rpm.

my block is still going

a poorly tuned engine on 14 psi i not last a slong as a well tuned engine at 30psi. theoretically the deciding factor is the education level of the driver

the deciding factor is the education level of the dirver. i never push my car until i know i have a fast car line up with me. also i granny shift the car and maintaince it good. no leaks. i hate leaks. and so far the car is running like a champ.

sounds like your a humble guy that doesnt show off just ebcause you have it this should mean it will last a good while then

i was having tranny issues on stock synchro's so i opted to go with the carbon synchro's from synchrotech, and they have held very well since. i do have a cuff thats going to go in though
