Default Lowering my drivers seat.

Hey guys I'm wondering if anyone has any good info on how to lower my driver seat in my 91' EF STD. I have same year Si seats front and rear now, but because of my height I am sitting about an inch from the ceiling, (this becomes even closer when I gel my hair >.>). So i was thinking about trying to lower the seat, but it seems that no one makes lower seat rails for stock seats. So I came to the conclusion that I will cut/weld something crazy! I am thinking about removing the blocks that the seat is mounted to, and taking my seat and flattening to tabs. Then I'll either mount them to smaller blocks or to the floor, and weld some angle iron to across the floor in front and rear of the seat for strengthening. Any feedback or info would be nice, since I'm new to welding. Thanks!

lol thanks m8. luckily for me it just makes an annoying sound, but yeah I also cannot decide if I should modify what I have now because I want to keep my interior stock looking, or if I should wait and get a bucket seat with lower frame rails. Once I cut out the stock mounts there really isn't any going back.

i was thinking maybe cut a notch out of the seat pan and seat foam and then weld another piece in so the rails would sit lower... just and idea...

heres a drawing so u get a better understanding of what i mean...

oh hey thats not a bad idea. I was also thinkingabout trying to modify a stock set of rails. I think i would try to have a piece come off the seat pan and come up the side then make a connecting piece to the sliders and mount the sliders more off to the side. I have to pull a seat out and take some measurements first tho.

Well.
Either wait for bucket seats.
Or wait for other seats in general.
Keep the stock alive.

yea i just put 1 of the 2 integra seats in my car and that one sits lower... just gotta put the other... but you do have to do some fab work to get the DA seats to fit... but not too much..

i have a CRX seat in mine...it sits way low :D!...the problem is the rails are bolted apart farther than the original seats,i gotta find a way to get the other seat rail bolted closer so i can bolt it down.

modifying the seat pan would be easier than modifying the rails. just cuz of how the pan sits over the rails.

you can also take the cover off and take out some of the foam to decrease the thickness. you can replace with a nicer, firmer material thats not as thick too, might even fit better.

or just another seat like aftermarket or del sol, as is commonly talked about.
