Default project incognito my ef sedan

some of you may remember my ls-t hatch that ran 11.5 with a stock longblock, I ended up trading that hatchback shell for this 89 dx sedan. the sedan already has alot of nice parts but could use some basic tlc. when I got it it had a burnt up valve in it so I pulled the head and fixed that. I also through my s300 on and spent a few hours tuning it and got it running pretty sweet. my original idea for the car was a high comp ls vtec but I think Im gonna stick with the B16 and actually have money to play with.

plans for the car are to get around 170-180whp Na and around 250whp on nitrous.

Iv got quite a few parts lined up to go on the car just need time to put them in
Blox B cams
Blox dual valve springs
itr retainers
older skunk2 intake manifold
bbk70mm throttle body

I actually got the b16 all put together and ended up trading my swap for a h2b setup which Im very very happy with. tq... in a honda whaaa?

first day I got the car, it had steelies but those had to go

eg6 steering wheel

f'd up valve

new ebay header for now.

da6 lip

lookin hella fresh

I love how with this car I can pull up to stop lights with out people judging me or glaring because I have another noisy honda that they think is slow (little do they know )

ya I painted the hood with rustoleum, I had to replace it with a cleaner hood the one on the car was trashed. and the valve got burnt because the kid was railing on it and did a 2-3-2 shift and over reved the crap out of it.

heres some more pics of my parts

still have a little more to bore out

pulled the head off today to put in the dual valve springs and itr retainers, also polished my fuel rail and stock injectors, bought a set of 20" slicks on hx wheels so hopefully I can go to the track this weekend (weather permitting)

thanks man, i got my cams, springs, retainers, intake manifold, throttle body, cam gears and tune on it today (tuned by me) and Im pretty happy with the setup but it feels like something is holding it back, I think its the small collector on the header so Im gonna mod that to a 2.5" tomorrow.

some pics for fun

thanks man I was looking at yours the other day, I remebered your hatch with the yellow bay and I really liked the exterior paint color on it, super sick. and ya this is my version of a cruiser but I don't wanna be getting beat all the time in it either my previous d.d. was a mid 11 sec hatch.

I was hoping to go to the track this weekend but the weathers pretty crappy

also got rid of my standard sized battery in favor of a much smaller on that I mounted on the passenger side frame rail, you can't really see it in this picture but its there.

well Im pretty pissed, today I was supposed to go to the track to run but my car started acting up, its missfiring on cyl # 3 and 4 and I have no idea why. it was coding for 16 (fuel injectors) and 21 (for vtec selenoid spool) but I went through the entire harness and all the connections that were just wire twisted together I soldered and heat shrinked. I also tried new plug wires, plugs, cleaned the cap and rotor, new injectors a different ecu, I pulled the main relay out and thats when I got the CEL to turn off although it is still miss firing at idle and light load, at WOT it seems to run pretty good. I have no idea what the hell is wrong and its getting really frustrating. Im gonna go tweak on it some more so maybe I can run it at woodburn tomorrow. (I hate woodburn)

so after going to the junk yard I spent about 45 minutes trying different stuff like new resistor box, two different main relays I found out that the problem was a slight cut in one of the injector wires coming from the ecu. so now it runs tittys and I put a stock itr base map on it through s300 and it RIPS. like huge difference. I really can't wait to go to the track some time soon.

did a little baby wire tuck on the sedan today, just to clean things up a little. got rid of most of the red white and blue electrical tape that was on the harness lol. for some reason this b16a2 bottom end smokes pretty bad most of the time. I didn't mind it at first but its kind of embarrassing sometimes. soo.... I picked up a clean b16a bottom end for a good deal also bought a ys1 tranny to replace my j1 tranny thats in the car currently. my tranny seems to shift hard pretty much every were so Ill either sell it for cheap or rebuild it. gonna have to get a new clutch disk (got one lined up already) because the j1 and ys1 have different imput shaft sizes. also picking up a pretty sweet nitrous kit tomarrow it has everything from a bottle blanket, bottle warmer, blow down tube...etc Im stoked

heres some pics to keep this thread poppin

that would make me a very happy kid. Im just hoping to hit low 14's on the motor to high 13's still gotta put the "unit" in it and tune all that.

seems like I have a ton more stuff to do first though, install my new b16 shortblock that doesn't smoke, new tranny, swap my passenger side eg hub for a da on (stupid kids) and get it aligned. I also wanna lighten it up a little by removing alot of crap out of the bumper supports but I plan on keeping all sound deadening and interior

this car weighs less then my 92 hatch did when I first god it (scales at 2200 even)

If you are referring to the knuckle the DA one isnt right either. Unless your running a camber kit or have it seriously slammed it will give you a lot of positive camber and i believe it messes with the caster as well. If your looking to upgrade try the 90-91 civic EX knuckles if you can find a set.
