need help please
Hi I am currently running circle track dirt track . I have a 94 integra with a h22a vtech . My question is . Is it possible to remove the secondary butterfly and gut the vtech solenoid so it is open at all times and in vtech mode at all times then bolt a second solenoid to the vehicle to plug the computer in to so the computer is happy and still thinks its working properly. I've seen a few people who done this but don't know for sure how well it worked.
Its possible but there are cleaner ways to do what your trying to do. I hope you realize your car will not run as well by doing this...Id leave those 2 items alone for now...
Just running off the vtec lobes is going to kill your midrange and bottom end. Basically your powerband will be narrowed to your vtec crossover point to your redline. (5500-8000 rpms)
Removing your butterflies in the intake manifold will also hurt your bottom end and midrange. The 2 stage intake was designed to benefit bottom and top end. Disabling/removing the butterflies is going to hurt the midrange and bottom end with very little if any improvement in top end...

Id suggest a set of aftermarket cams with the supporting valvetrain and getting tuned with something like Neptune or hondata...
With the tuning software, you can activate vtec whenever you want without having to run extra sensors to trick the ecu. In the tuning software, you can disable certain sensors so you dont have keep certain things plugged in to avoid your CEL from coming on...You can also fine tune your ignition and fuel maps which to me is necessary in any type of racing...
What exactly do you want to change about the engines powerband?
