Default brake light issue on my '93 accord ex

My brake lights won't turn off, this is causing my battery to die. The switch works fine; however, the part on the pedal that presses the switch to turn off the lights broke off. The guy at autozone told me that I would either have to go to the dealer to get it fixed or I might be able to put a screw into the pedal as an easy fix. Does anyone know if this is possible or true? If so, what size screw?

to be honest...you can use anything since all it is just a plug that depresses the brakelight switch to make it go off....personally i used a rolled up hard/thick paper taped to where the plug was at....it held on for a year now.
