Intemittent clicking noise?? annoys me!
Hi all,
My R is 00 FBP w/15k miles stock. Summer driven with no rain.
Anyway, just last wk, when weather in Northeast finished summer like weather which now is around 60's in morning, I notice when i drive to work at chilly 7am,
there is a clicking noise coming from front drivers side towards wheel. It doesn't happen when hitting bumps on road all the time. It just do it intermittently going straight, never happen in turning. I checked wheel, under carriage, under dashboard and anywhere eye can see but no luck locating anything abnormal.
I know I am very sensitive to these things but it does drive me nuts.
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks
eddie

Everyone's make crazy funky noises from time to time, either turn the radio up or put her in VTEC and listen to that

Did you check the 32mm axle nut? I've had to tighten mine up twice.

Mine clicks when I depress the clutch and when I run over SOME small, sharp bumps. I traced it down to the clutch pedal. I'll take another look at it and report in detail what I think MY issue is with the high-pitched clinking noise. I HATE it.
could be your bushings.. does it sound like a cracking noise almost? happens at odd times during all kinds of manouvers? Maybe comming from different areas of your car? Could be sway bar or control arm bushings.. They are very hard and they will start to get grippy as the plastic gets old.. you can try some spray lube, but you might just as well get used to it.. The noise goes with the territory..
that's why manufactures don't use those bushings on bread and butter cars.. People would complain bitterly about the noise..

Thanks for the feedback, I have 15K apt at dealer next wk but i doubt they can catch this, especially is intermittent with a high pitch click noise.
Anymore ideas?

-check the 32mm nut
-check the brake pads (the sometimes move when the brake is slightly pressed)
-check the cv joint
I have the same noise... the drivers side wheel bearings, hub and spindle have been replaced once.
