Thinking about getting a 2010 Si, Need some info
Hey all. Sorry, I don't really have time to search. g/f is bugging me to hurry up and get ready as it is. I'm debating whether to get a new 4-door Si and needed to know a few things first. I've seen the dyno sheets of some of yall with FlashPro/I/H/E and it's not too shabby. How much power can you make with these things if you went with some decent cams? Can 250whp on 93 pump be achieved? That's all I really want for a DD (well, ok 270whp N/A would be even nicer). Thanks in advance
You won't hit 250 HP with I/H/E/cams/flashpro. With a 3" header and exhaust, cold air intake, and some BC or skunk2 cams, and perhaps a prebored throttle body, you can expect to land around 230-240, depending on how generous your dyno of choice is. My last trip to the dyno was 214/169 street tuned with CAI/H/E/Flashpro (OEM cams.) 270 is out of the question (while staying N/A) unless you're looking at spending tens of thousands of dollars.
Boost and a friendly, reliable, reputable tuner is the way to go if you want to climb closer to 300HP. Also, a nice chunk of torque doesn't hurt either.

First of all the skunk2 cams are not of good enough quality to even mention. I would say if you want power do I/H/E stage 2 cams and flashpro tuned. Get a tsx TB bored or get the Spoon TB and get a RRC intake manifold. As for cams I would go with Blueprint racing or Gopower. They make some nice cams that are reasonably priced. For the intake get CAI injen or AEM. Header gopower makes custom headers that can have a 3in collector or S2 header is nice. Catback I would go 3in either gopwer or fullrace. I prefer the fullrace b/c of sound level.
If your looking to really hit the 270 area you would need to do a k24 bottom end. Go power is making a huge market for parts for the 8th gen civic. They sell basically a crate k24 built bottom end at a reasonable price.

Some manufacturers, like Subaru, void that specific part that failed. Let's say you slammed your car, and one day you bottomed out and your oil pan cracked. You bring the car in, they see that it is lowered, and for some reason, your Koni/GC yellows stand out a lot more in their shop. They probably would not cover the oil pan, but something else, like your powertrain is still covered.
A lot of times, it depends on the dealer that you go to (if you go to a dealer for repairs). Some are finicky, some are not. Let's say you went to Honda of Hondaville (for lack of a better name) to replace a head gasket. They saw your Injen cai, and dismissed you, even if your cai had nothing to do with it. On the other hand, Honda of S2000ville down the road is a bit more lax, and replaced your head gasket under warranty, even with your cai present. Read RICO's ongoing grievances with his car and warranty.
Feel free to correct me if any of my info is wrong.
