body shop problems - need opinions
here's the story, i got in a front end collision with my 90 hatchback and just got it back from the body shop. they replaced the front bulkhead (part that holds the lights and radiator) and the new hood closes. the thing is, though, if i compare measurements between it and my 89 civic hatchback (which has never had an accident), the bulkhead is .5" too far in in the center, and gets straighter the closer to th sides you get. the shop is saying that as long as the parts join up, it's fine. i don't know though, .5" is a lot, i think, for the front end to be off.
I've never really seen a bodyshop job that wasn't a little off to the eye. When my Crx got backed by a lady in her jeep got new hood and fenders, but it was still a tad bit off. Probably not noticeable to anyone except me
It really bothered me at first, I'm pretty particular about my car stuff, but after a while I learned to live with it. I didn't mind and other people seemed not to notice or care so its all good.
