Whats up guys. I just came across into buying a clean red crx si shell with (supposely) clean and complete interior and all but the dude says he doesnt have the pink slip, has 2008 tags and biggest of them all NO KEY. HE claims to have bill of sale though. wtf? I have a y-49 crx with ls swap awaiting for some boost which i possibly plan to transfer my swap to the red crx shell. Is it possible for me to somehow switch the ignitions so i can use my own key? Any ideas? Oh and I plan to trade him my black rotas with decent amount of thread in tires and 50 dollars cash on top. lol

call up sacramento and tell them to run a vin and license plate check to make sure its not stolen...!!!

 

But lets say it it passes thru carfax as a good car. Then what? What about the key?

go to the dealership and buy a new cylinder and key.

 

Is it possible to use the one i have in my crx? Im going to have no use for the one i currently own since im swaping parts to the shell.

Oh thank god. Pheww. I just went into majestic honda and that lil shyt is 243.45 bucks. Ni madres.

 

yeah just swap your door handles, trunk lock, and ignition cylinder or if you can't get that apart then the whole ignition set over. looks like a good deal if it's legit

you don't have to do any of that. go down to Honda, give them the VIN, and they can cut you a key for the car from that.

 

This correct done it a couple of times myself.

go to honda with the vin number and make of the car along with a coppy of your insurance/id. it'll cost less than 10 bux for a key matched to that cyl lock

 

if you dont wanna spend the time swapping out door and trunk locks then a locksmith can just re-key them for you. not that expensive.

 

Good call captain obviouse. It was already posted.

 

You don't even have to remove the door handles since the actual lock piece is just held in with a C-clip. Pop that out and the lock comes right out. I just did this to my CRX with one I found at the boneyard that happened to work with my key.

dont want to be *** here, but it look like its stolen???? no pink slip?,no key?, no engine? sounds and look fishy though. The plate is not even there? correct me if this is legit.

and as for the keys... go to honda and have them cut u a few keys the keys are only a few bucks a piece... im actually havin my boy that works at honda get me some this week...
