Default First radio install and i'm doing it myself!-quick easy question

Hey guys, so i know I have to attach the aftermarket harness to the (in this case) pioneer radio harness and plug the aftermarket harness to the stock line.

when i'm matching the wires between the pioneer harness and the aftermarket harness though, do i NEED to solder/crimp or can i just wrap the wires and electric tape. I don't have soldering kit/crimp kit so I would have to buy one if tape isn't sufficient. Let me know.

Stay away from the twist and tape method on the radio harness. Sometimes the tape comes undone then you got exposed wires and thats not good. Get a crimper and some connectors and you will be better off.

if you really wanna be a cheap *** at least buy some cheap wire nuts, they are far better than just electrical tape. The proper way is to use a crimper and insulated splices.

Easy way is to buy a "smart-cable" from Metra, Pioneer plug on one end and your cars radio harness plug on the other, easy, neat and tidy.

Next least expensive is crimp and butt connectors... http://cgi.ebay.ca/271-PC-WIRE-STRIP...item563c0f87cd

Next would be solder and shrink tube...

so with the smart plug I wouldn't need the aftermarket wiring harness NOR the pioneer harness right?

and I would need a smart cable specific to pioneer and acura correct?

I don't think you can just plug in those in h/u like that.. I don't really trust that plug adapter thing.. I usually would get one at Best Buy and ask associate if not sure. You get what you "pay" for..

yea right now i'm trying crimping, i just have this feeling that it might not be a good connection though? idk

is the point of the crimping to have the wires meet in the middle, or have enough of the copper wire touching the inside so that it relays the signal?

if the latter than i need higher gauge connectors, if not then i need large gauge so i can wrap them around each other inside the connector.

ALRIGHTTTTTTTTTTTTT

wanted to give everyone an update...I'M DONE!

those 2 damn screws and multiple clips drove me insane-but it's done.

working well, I'm just hoping it's all good and doesn't drain my battery ( as in i didn't wire something wrong for the battery to drain).
