I was wondering how long HT members use their drag radials for. What I mean is, do you ditch em' once the tire groves are gone? Do you use them for a few more runs AFTER the tires are bald? I've heard they hookup better when theyre bald?! Any input on this? Just wondering because I have a set and it wears out pretty good and I just want to get as many runs out of them as possible.

 

heat cycles has more to do with it then tread

 

I have Ran BFGs at all levels. When they where brand new they hooked good. And when they where bald they hooked the same.

As for heat cycles I would believe that would have something to do with it. but when I ran Power street My tires Where Very old and bald and the car still went 11.001@135.

So I would say run them untill the brown cords start showing. Hell wait for the metal!

 

i was running a set that was very thin in the middle. running 14.39, 14.42. no spinning stock b16 on the limiter, type arh tranny.

 

i stopped running mine when i seen the cords
