Default D16Y7 problem with 89 Si trans

Got a thread over on d-series already but figured I would ask here too. I'm attempting to use the 89 Si transmission from my CRX on a 98 D16Y7 and it seems that the throwout bearing doesn't even touch the pressure plate until the very end of the lever travel. I've had the same result both with the old D16A6 flywheel/PP and with the Y7's flywheel w/ 1990 PP. It was working fine when used with the A6, but now seems to simply not reach. I don't see how this can be adjusted. Any ideas?

I'm using my 89 trans and throwout bearing and the y7 clutch/pp. Not having any problems yet. Have you adjusted the cable all the way tight? That's what I had to do.

I haven't even put the cable on yet, I'm just grabbing the lever by hand and there is no resistance at all when I move the thing. I might hit the junkyard today and just grab parts and mess around...

I may owe you guys some beer. I had no idea the thing had to be adjusted that much nor did I read it anywhere while researching this. I was just at the junkyard playing with transmissions and I did notice how far that thing actually moves with the cable properly set up. I guess I will find out shortly if it is good to go...

Well it works now. Took 30 seconds to fix it. I hate my life.

I had to adjust mine alllll the way tight and it grabs ridiculously hard. Almost to hard. There is no slipping it what so ever.

Yes. As I was at the junkyard messing around I started thinking about what you said so I checked how tight the cable is on a random EF and sure as **** mine was way off.
