Default first drag in the crx hybrid...dissapointed...

setting: Sacramento Raceway

car: 90 crx jdm b18c

motor is stock only headers(4-2-1) catco and custom 2.25" exhaust...running as y-1 cable tranny non-lsd, CM stage 3 and CM flywheel, Stock 197k mile suspention, 165/75/13 tires(truely POS)...interior stripped but still both seats...and i weigh 250lbs...stock p72

these are the 2 best runs of the night the others are not worth posting cuz i miss shifted or bogged too much:

run 1:
60 foot: 2.556
E.T. 15.175
MPH: 94.805
4500k lauch...tried to slip clutch all i got was wheel spin

run 2:
60 foot: 2.570
E.T. 15.128
MPH 95.261
this run i just lauched "normal"...i did not bnring up the revs...spun a bit in second and chirp in 3rd

i was really hoping to run a low-mid 14...actually a low 14 is wat my goal is for this stock set up...i know i need mor practice and i know i need more traction...still dissapointed tho...i noticed im using a lot of fourth gear towards the end...is that bad?

Looks to me like you are just spinning the tires. Either launch a little lower or get a small set of slicks and I think you will see a huge improvment.

You need tyres, my friend.......you need tyres real bad!!!!
You have mid 14 mph but you need traction!!!!!!!!!
2.5's = YUK!!!
Quality 185/60 x 14 at 15 psi if you can't afford Drag Radials.

trying launching it from 2500-3000 and slipping the clutch on the launch. I was getting 2.2s doing that on my stock steelies (92 hatch b18c1 motor w/a few mods)

Wuhung. Your MPH is there. 2.5's *ouch*. Your just having traction problems. Too much wheel spin. Lower tire pressure down to 20 or whatever. What are you launching at? Try different launch points. When I had a stock b16a, I was 2.3 on street tires 14.8. After all the little mods, I ran last race and bested it with 14.64 @ 96.7 mph on gabs on kumhoes full interior. AND KUMHOES SUCK FOR traction. Compound is hard. I've never had such a hard time hooking up plus I don't have torque so I gotta hit it right. I sold my slicks too before the races, haha. But you should get it down to 2.2's or 2.3's and that'll put you in the 14's fo sure. What ecu you running? I can chip it if your interested. Just gotta run the track some more and work out some bugs.

with a 95MPH trap speed.. @ 15.1.......

Its all about those first 60 FT

WIth some decent drag radials and a imporved 60 to 2.0-2.1, Im guestimating a nice mid to low 14

Oh yea..one more thing..

Seat Time Seat Time Seat Time and more Seat Time.

whats Royal....yea i had the pressure down to 20 already....it didnt effect my 60ft...i tried lauching at 4500 and feathering it...lot of wheel spin...then at 3500...same deal....just got spin and when i tried ti ease off the gas i bogged...im not very expeirenced also so i probably wasnt feathering the clutch too well....hey i talked to a white guy at the track lastnight...he said he worked at midnight...he was running a red crx w/ b16a @ around 14.8-14.9...never got his name....u probably know him eh...yea im not going out agian till i get new tires to run on...was dissapointed to run a 15 with a gsr swap...Ryan

Wuhung! Yeh, you talked to Ryan. He was running a car with a b16a for fun. Yeh, he's cool. Yeh, your going to have to just play around and keep running it. When I upgraded with cams, retainers, and other bolts ons they all work, but gotta dyno to adjust everything. I had my fuel pressure at 42 psi, put it back to stock 36 and gained 3 hp. So i'm still learning my car, and I've had it for hella long. CMI Sat I hit 14.8's all day no traction. Sunday I hit 14.6 on same 2.4 lame *** 60fts. But mph is there. Same with you, mph is there. I tried different shifting points too depending on what gear and it all matters. I'm shifting up to 8500 in first to second, and second to third, in third to fourth I shift lower like 8250. Before I was shifting at 9000 and 9500 but I still have a catalytic converter. That crap is hella slowing me down on top end. Dam, I still haven't seen you car yet. Whens the next time your gonna hit the track? I'll be hitting it up October 5, 6 so we better see you out there!

too bad ur not is SOCAL jason, or u could make my crx run 12's . but seriously, the 600 pound rear springs, are they the skunk's or another aftermarket spring? Or would integra rear springs fit in a crx, or better yet which is the stiffest stock spring that would work in a crx??

Royal- yea i beleive my fuel pressure is a little too high for my mods(~54psi)...i should lower it...yea so what going on on OCT 5,6 ...is it an event?...or just another free drag...im not really up to date about anything around here...i should check the sac raceway site...i think i might go back out again on sept 25 wednesday night...yea that guy ryan was cool for the short time period i talked to him...

Jason- yea we should meet up some time Royal too and who ever is on h-t often...i would be heading up over there straight from CSUS...i would probably getting out of a meeting at school around 4pm....i wanted to get some street drag radials and replace my stock suspension before i go out again but im in a real pinch this month for cash...monthly paychecks from the state sucks sometimes...so im not too sure...

name off anydays you guys are free and i will try to find CASH and TIME to go....

-Ryan

Hehe...I can get you any rate you want on rear springs from Ground control. They were really swamped last time I went to get some for Paul Vang on this board. The rear springs are like 130 or something like that. I would just save up and get those. 600 is about the highest I would go if you still want to corner safely.

Someone mentioned a 13 second integra there. I didn't see it there. I think I remember asking you waht the DSM ran. I was the short shaved head asian guy, which describes 99% of the people at Sacramento Raceway, LOL. Yeah, it was a slow night considering my car was the fastest import there.

Yeah, I'm up in Sacramento visiting family. I don't know if you saw me make any good runs. I was pissed. I was having issues with the car all day. I thought it was heat related and I thought I was detonating. Turns out, my intercooler coupler popped off. GRRRR...... Wasted an entire night trying to figure it out. I finally got a semi-decent pass and ran a 13.2@103. I think if I had more runs, I would've hit 12's.

It is the stock turbo stuff off the japanese SR20DET on an American SR20DE motor. Basically a T25 turbo.
