high compression or low compression with a turbo
so im runnin a b16a , me and a friend were talking about compression on my car after i get it turbod. hes telling me to get high compression pistons and that i will have better gas mileage and also run better. from everybody ive heard about turboing cars but him , if your going all motor you stay high compression, if your going low compressions you get a turbo , whos right and whos wrong ? thanks
well u can go high comp turbo but not for long lol
but it really is useally low=boost high=allmotor
and i know someone will chime in and say IT IS ALL IN TUNE and yes that is right to a certain exstent but normally i say lower comp for boost
my build is stock comp because i will be running LARGE turbo on SOHC but 9.0:1 on a sc67 .48 hot side with all forged bottom end FTW end/

I will always say run low comp, but with a proper tune you can do either.
If the boost goes to high with high comp you will need to get into race fuel.
My friend has a 10.5:1 boosted gsr and it runs just fine.

It depends on the condition/strength of your motor and most importantly the fuel you are using..
my b16 is 11.3:1 running on e85 and 30lbs of boost, of course it's sleeved and built
