Why would you do this??

If anything, go at least B20Z, they make a lot more power than an LS, being they are under rated from Honda

As much as i dont like b16's i wouldnt replace with a ls.
As deetz said at least a b20z (they are pretty freaking quick in a civic)

You siad b16 head and tranny so im guessing you would like to go ls/vtec?

B20z = 146hp and 133tq. B18b= 145hp and 126tq. Not so much diffirence.

You would be better off getting a gsr block and putting the b16 head and tranny on it.

A ls swap would be good if you want to boost tho.

yeah well my b18b in my old sol with b16 trans ran with gsr's all day long, you dont truly need vtec to haul ***, but i sertainly wouldnt getta b16 unless it was my beater and even then im not sure i would, my b20 is breaking and ive decided to go back to a b18b with tha gsr trans but im not keeping it stock tho, prolly slap a b16 head on it

lol, you couldn't be more wrong!

As an actual owner of a number of both of these engines, a B20Z will OWN a B18B!!

Why?

- makes more power for longer, both hp and torque!
- the B20Z is under rated for power, the B18B is not

The B20Z comes stock with a lousy exhaust manifold, it is really bad! Unlike a B18B that has a good design of manifold, and the edition of a header may add like 2hp.....the B20 manifold design is so inferior, that adding a header makes 15hp and 5ft lbs torque.

Here is what i am talking about......
