Odyssey Build
I have a 1996 Odyssey and I want to add horses and a body kit. I am thinking that I'm going to turbo it, but can anyone suggest anything that will help from turbo ideas to cam selection. I also need to know of a body kit that will look good, I haven't found any body kits.
if your close to tx i could sell u my gareson rep kit . as far as turbo just get one ment for a accord 94-97 its the same motor bay as the odyssey. convert it to 5 speed and you will realy have fun , did mine some time ago h22 5speed on 10 lbs with ac and ps

For a killer all-motor set-up use individual throttles (brand of your choice) and a lumpy street-cam. For this set-up I used the trans from a Prelude. The shorter gears will make for a quick-shifting drive-train to match the instant response of the high-revving throttle-body equipped engine, and it will be kick-*** in the city or on a track.
On either set-up I recommend removing the balance-shafts (the kit for this is available from Bisimoto.com), as well balancing and knife-edging the crank. Like I said; the van weighs just over 4700 pounds, so the less parasitic drag the better. If you're on a budget then start out with the 5-speed conversion, and have fun with that for a while. You'll be surprised at how much of different vehicle the van becomes once you have a clutch and shifter in the mix. Hope that helps.

I have two 1st-gen. Odyssey vans; one with a boosted H22, and the other with an all-motor H22 equipped with TWM throttles. Overboostin is right about the 5-speed conversion. You'll gain back about 25 percent of your lost power, and even the stock engine will feel like it's been hit with a small dose of nitrous. For some serious power boost an H22. I recommend stock compression with 6 pounds. You can go low-compression and crank it up to 20 psi, but your bottom-end in the power band will be sluggish. Even with an H22, you're still pushing 4700 pounds of van around, so you're going to want the bottom-end torque of stock compression and instant boost of a moderately sized ball-bearing compressor. For the turbo set-up use an Accord or older Acura CL trans, and the long gear-ratios will make for a killer freeway set-up, allowing you to use the top 4 gears while out on the open road. I usually stick with stock cams for all my turbo set-ups.

what's code for the cl tranny? like "y1" for the b16 & B18s
got any pics of the engine? or the car as well
is there any articles or books about a five speed conversion because I've talked to many people and they say that it will not work, and will the stock bottom end be able to handle 6 - 8 pounds of boost or will I have to invest more into the bottom end, and will an intercooler help any at all?

im using a prelude center counsoul to cover the braket and shifter looks oem i think and its raised 7" off the floor to match dash and also has cup holders lol.......
your stock bottom end will hold 6-10 lbs fine..
sorry the people you talked to are just scared to cut the van , its just like a 94+ accord convertion ,some have cut the brake to make it clear the clutch pedal , but if u use 90-91 accord gas and brake , it will clear, just need to swap over the odyssey gas pedal to the accord one ..
or just get parts and come down to houston and ill do the convertion for you or i could get every thing....
Your problem will be putting all the power onto the road without spinning one of the front wheels. Too many horses into front wheel drive (with a normal diff) also equals serious torque steer issues.
