will a 99 si tranny (hydro) work on a b16a (cable)
i have a freind that has a jdm b16a (cable), his tranny seems to be going out, so he wants to know if a 99 si tranny (hydro) will work. and what has to be done or converted. thanks honda techs
It will with some modifications...there's a thread here a while back regarding cable to hydro conversion. I wouldnt try it if you ask me. There's welding and alignment modifications involved. Unless you're a skilled hand, I'd just buy another cable tranny. Hydro to cable would be a different story, Hasport and some other place sells the conversion.
a custom mount needs to be welded to the subframe, have to be very careful on the placement in order to keep the axle alignment correct. as for the hydraulic clutch setup, i would run the stock cable to a custom actuator box that would pull on the throwout fork.
you should decide for yourself if it's too hard personally i have a brother that can weld
, so i would do it when i find a good deal on a hydro tranny...
