Poped EP3 Motor... what else is a drop on option?
looking for a direct plug in(i have the poped motor in the car so i can pull all the sensors ect out..)
looking for a bolt in plug in setup... if the k20a3 is the one for that job.. so be it.. i just think the car could use the torque of a 2.4L vs2.0------------------please keep the "put the k20 head on bs to yourself" its a 100% stock civic just needs a motor asap
-im thinking a crv motor???? though the k20a3 engine is cheap i dont have any locally.

i picked up a K24A4 for 1000 shipped from a seller in Florida, and its a farely simple swap. CRV passenger motor mount, 310cc injectors, and a Hasport I/M adapter. If you have kpro you can run with the stock injectors.
k24a1,a4,a8.....will all run on the stock ecu. The a4/a8 are both accord motors and they can be had for less than a grand....you will need a couple things........
An crv motor mount(pasneger side) and some 310cc injectors from a type-s or tsx.....you will want to swap all the pulleys,ac compressor, water pump and tb.....depending on what motor you get, you will need the intake manifold...or not....there is a pia water passage at the rear of the head that is a little different on each motor....
Also....the k24's are 19mm taller than the k20's....this means the head is higher, as a result any header/ header/cat combl you use will be pulled up higher, A lot of people have problems with them hitting the front sway. There are a couple fixes for this....1) 2003 em2 coupe ft sway, its smaller and hugs the tunnel....2) edm ep3 type-r front sway....you can get them from jdm land, they have a different bend that makes more room for the header.....or 3) run no front sway.
Hope that helps.

I have a K20a2 and all the parts from a '03 RSX Type-S. You could drop that right in!
$3,000.

well it depends what you want it for if you use your SI for regular driving then drop in another k20a3 but if you want it for racing drop in a k20a2
the kids not racing... its 100% stock car!... does a k24 out of a crv work.... thats pretty much my only question... hes got all parts from a 2002 si... nothing more.. hes not going to buy injectors or a k pro. hes not going to spend the $ on the a2... he probably wont even go for the $1000 junk yard motor (if found)

As stated previously, the K24 WILL fit, it just needs some different parts that the factory K20a3 motor does not utilize. Such as, the CRV mount, 310cc injectors, and Kpro. These are not meant for you to "race." We're just stating this is what you WILL need to make the motor work in the EP3 civic.
I'll give him $2,000 for the car as is. The price I quoted would get you all in. All of the other options above don't include the $1000's of other parts just to make it work.
