Default Opinions on buying this CRX for sale!!!

Alright so I'll just copy and paste the listing, basically the guy wants $300, brakes are shot so I can't drive it home. He said there is no fluid left in them??? I am such an amatuer with brakes, is this more than likely going to be in over my head fix or are brakes really not that bad? I wish I could be more specific but he's not totally sure exactly what the problem is. Needs new bumper etc. Just please let me know if you would pick this up as a fun project or leave it alone and get something else. I already have a 91 ed so this would just be spoiling myself with a crx ha ha! Thanks!

Here is the info he posted:

I have an 87 Crx Si that I need to get rid of. It was in an accident but alot of parts are still in great condition. This car came from texas from about a year ago, only rust on damaged areas. Im pretty upset that hit had to happen, these are great cars. Ive owned 3crx's, I love autocrossing theyre great autocross cars. I would get another and keep this one, but I no longer have the time and concentrating on my career. Only the rear is damaged. Theres a few pics below and a list of parts, if you have any questions or is interested please call or text Pat. Preferably texts from 9am-530pm Mon-thurs. (414)-759-6006

Im asking $300 for the whole car, with the suspension parts I put in, its well over $300. Your gain, my loss.

Black Racing Seats (from Checkers, Clean no rips, tears or stains)
Custom "CRX" Black/white red stiched doors
Custom 2.25 piping exhaust (2 Vibrant resonators, ebay muffler, no cat)
98 ITR rear sway bar (Bought new, installed last Fall)
Medieval Pro Torsion Bars 24mm (Bought new, installed last Fall)
KYB GR-2's (Fronts we're bought new, installed last spring. Rear supposively new when I bought the car)
Ground Control Coil Overs (Bought new, installed last fall)
Motor is all stock but runs great!
12in MOMO sub, 100w Rockfords Amp (flush mount with the trunk)
Master Cylinder was replaced last spring
Everything is stock and in working condition, just minus the rear stuff like lights, bumpers and such.

My opinion....no, you souldn't

As much as i like the old gen crx's, i had 2 of them in the past...that one needs a hell of a lot of work. That rear quarter is pretty damaged, plus what ever else needs to be done.

I think the newer gen is a much better built car

Looks like a headache unless you can do all of the repairs yourself.

I can do the body repair, it's the brakes I'm worried about. Thanks for the input!

that's a bucket of problems man. looks like the rear suspensions was gone anyways. glad he sold it. if you can't handle brakes, more than likely you'd just get discouraged with this project anyways.

Brakes are simple... the rear end damage probably damaged the hard lines, so the fluid leaked out...

Get it towed home, and reputable shop can repair the brake lines..

but if your having an issue with fixing brakes... a project car probably isnt for you.
