Starter will not turn over
So I just swapped my engine, everything is done, ready to go...so it seems.
The car will not even attempt to start. My starter was old and supposedly going out, according to the previous owner, so I got a brand new starter. Just bolted that on and still nothing.
I took a piece of 16awg wire and connected the constant powered lead on the starter to the smaller connection (whatever it's called, the connector that only gets power when the key is turned to the "start" position) to try to manually get the starter to spin, and still nothing.
The odd thing is, I hear a faint noise when the two leads make contact together. Possibly the sound of the starter trying to spin but not being able to? I couldn't tell for sure if the sound was coming from the starter or not, but I don't think it was. It's a very quiet noise.
Has anyone had a similar problem? I have tested all my wiring, everything is powered, grounded, and receiving starting signal. Still, any ideas at ALL would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

First things first, make sure you have good voltage coming out ur battery, secondly there should be two connections to ur starter( ground w/bolt and the other thingy as u mentioned) they stressed somwhere that it should be installed crimp side up. Now if ur car still doesn't start, push start ur car and if it turns on then u have a faulty wire and/or connection somewhere
Hope this helps
