Default OEM 6-CD Changer Removal

Hello all,

My ITR's cd changer came installed in the trunk (bolted to the back of the right rear seat). I was wondering what the easiest method to remove the long cable attaching it to the stock headunit would be. It looks like it runs under the carpeting, but if anyone has any tips on extraction of this cable it would help a lot. Thanks in advance and I did search but only got headunit removal instructions. Cheers

i think the easiest way would be to detatch the cable from the CD unit, and either pull your radio or just reach in behind and pull it through.

I'm removing it because I sold it. The cd player has been removed as well as the cd changer in the trunk. It looks like the cable runs from front (near stock head unit) to back (trunk) all under the carpeting.

So you're bascially asking how to remove an unconnected cable without pulling the carpet, which they must have done during installation!?

If you aren't reusing the cable, I'd cut the connectors on one end and just pull it out the other end...
