B18A/CRX guys : question for ya
How does the car feel with the engine and HAsport mounts?
Wiring hard?
What ECU do I use?
What clutch?
Daily driver or what?
PS-I did a search too!

hasport mounts feel real good and they put the motor in a good place. i have seen other kits that make the motor sit in kinda messed up positions.if you have a si there is no wiring to do it will all plug up.you the LS ecu but i believe the si will work but the motor will not run as good. as for clutch that depends on what kind of driver you are. if your into dippin around town get a nice disc but if your into drag and the LS is a good motor for drag go with a 6 puck. i have a full face 6 puck and i highly recommend a sprung 6 puck. Act makes a nice one.hell yeah daily drive!!! enjoy. its pulls in first second and the beggning of third but after that it kinda lacks. if your not into drag i would go with the b16. its a fun motor for dippin turns and highway driving.good luck.
LOL this guy is funny(nitrousDreamz)... he doesn't have a clue..... i have a b18c in my crx with a hcp kit and it's perfect... wiring done from the factory if you have a hf/si.. 90-93 ls ecu.. if your motor isn't a 90-93 you will have to get the 90-93 distributor and tranny.... i have a 4 puck non sprung hub harsh but i love it.. sprung hubs are good for daily driving.... i almost drive my car everyday.. i use to have an ls motor a couple of my friends do too... it pulls in every gear if you're in the powerband, but now i have a gsr motor so it doesn't compare.. and what the last guy said about b16a being slower in drag he's wrond b16a is faster..

The feel of the car will depend on which stiffness you get. The regular street mounts are considerably stiffer, and for the first month or so your car will rattle a bit. Once the mounts break in the rattling isn't AS severe... If you get the race inserts, which are practically SOLID, well your car is gonna rattle like hell all the time. THis is the HAsport mounts, keep in mind...
As for the wiring, it's easy as hell. If you have an HF or Si, you can just plug your stock wiring harness isnto the B16a, add 4 wires for VTEC solenoid, VTEC oil pressure, Knock Sensor, 2nd O2 sensor (either a homemade harness or the HAsport one) and you're good to go. If you have a DX then you have to convert to MPFi first, which from what I've heard, isn;t all that hard...
ECU? Use the correct B16a ECU... either PR3 or PW0. The PW0 lets you use only one O2 sensor, but has an 8000 redline as opposed to the 8200 of the PR3.
ACT makes high quality clutch components. As to which clutch, well that depends on what you need the car for..... The stronger the pressure plate, the harsher the engagement, but the better it grabs. People always think that a 4 or 6 puck with a stock pressure plate is gonna be harsh...... and it's not true. It's gonna grab good, but the clutch disc isn't what makes your clutch harsh, it's the pressure plate. A unsprung 4 puck with a stock PP would grab really nice and not be hard to engage at all. I would recommend a 6 puck sprung-hub clutch with a heavy duty pressure plate. THis way, you;ve got more than enough holding power, and daily driving will not suffer so much...
Daily Driver? That depends.... owning a hybrid is like having a bratty kid. Some days it listens and somedays it just makes you want to pull your hair out. A LOT of this depends on how you treat the car. As long as it is swappe dcorrectly, a hybrid is just as reliable as a stock motored car... once you start modifying things and beating on the car, thats when **** starts to break.......
you'll notice the front end of the car will be heavier. The install was a breeze. just like if the mounts were from the factory.
with the ecu, I first used my si ecu then I switched to a 90-91 integra ecu.
for the clutch and pressure plate, I went with stock.
Yes, both of my cars are daily driven

How does the car feel with the engine and HAsport mounts?
good, a little stiff but thats due to how badly phatwhiping aka bobby beat on these mounts i bought off him ;-) just bustin his ***** a little. hehe.
Wiring hard?
cake, used stock si harness, everything plugs right up.
What ECU do I use?
stock si ecu
What clutch?
ACT 6 puck, stock pressure plate
Daily driver or what?
daily driver, i beat on this thing daily and it runs like a champ.

i'm running a b20z, very similar to the b18..and i'm using all b18a components (intake manifold, distributor, injectors) i tried using a pm6 ecu and it ran like CRAP. before the night was over it threw codes and limped home. when i put a pr4 ecu in (teg ecu) it ran Soooo much better.

Never use a stock SI ECU for anything other than a D16A6 or MPFI D15. Because it was not meant to run other motors (like the D16Z6/D16Y8, B16A (yes, some people do it!), B18A/B18B, or B20). If the motor is a 1990-1991 B18A, use the proper 1990-1991 PR4 ECU. Newer motors should use the newer ECUs for optimal performance. As for the B20, the optimal ECU out of the box is the 1994-1995 P75. Also, the B20 will not run properly with a 1990-1993 Integra intake manifold. The runners are smaller than the ports on the B20 head. MUCH better is the 1994-1995 LS manifold. But best is the Skunk2.
