well i am getting board with my stock internals and want to change few things. it was tunes about a year ago and pulled 175 whp with v tec controler. now i wanna pull little closer to 195whp. i dont wanna go all big and fully built it. i was thinking more like a new higher compression pistons like CTRs. i dont really know what else to change since i like everything aobut the type r motor. what would you guys recommend changing for little more power in my engine. i was even thinking nos with like 50 shot too. but the car is a daily drive and i wouldnt be shooting nos all the time. i need something strong all motor.

I went with o/s jdm itr pistons. If I could go back in time I would have just got some aftermarket pistons...

 

How about some new more aggressive cams?

 

ya i was thinking about cams too but i just keep hearing from people that type r cams are really good.

 

are you using ls crank to make it 2.0L? how much power are you pulling on your motor?

 

Is this for a Type R or do you have an ITR motor in another car? One will affect the value (if original), the other should probably be asked in the all-motor forum.

are these real oem CTR pistons?

 

If you want to use Honda cast pistons, use PR3 or P30 pistons on a 1.8L.

They are considerably lighter, do not have a horrible dome design, and will make the same if not more power than CTR's.

 

i made 200 whp and 140 ish tq with ctr pistons with improper tune. could have got more with better tuning.

now i have wiseco pistons in my B20 block

 

and thats the only thing that was done to your motor? no head work?

 

Yep, I bought the RS Machine P30 pistons for my rebuild. A bump of a .5 point in compression.
