Default Any recommendation for Springs/Coilovers? Limit to spend $1000

Hi

Im looking for a new set of suspensions and Im having problems with which set up I should go with...

The first thing on my list are the 05-06 Mugen SS but they're hard to get/find besides spending more then a arm and leg on a used set...

And since I cant get those, my second choice comes to a hard decision...

- Tein S-Tech with Koni Yellows
- Ground Controls with Koni Yellows
- Tein Coilovers basic or ss (im kind of trying to avoid coilovers)
- or something new i haven't discover and you tell me

I have money but I dont want to spend more then $1000 and also this car is a DD but since my dad and I work together, we usually take his car to work so most likely my car is a Weekend car. lol

Im from MN so the new suspensions has to last at least all 4seasons if I dont get lazy and switch it back to stock(unless I get the springs/gc with koni's)

I would like at least a 2in drop on the front and 1.7-2in drop for the rear.

I dont plan to get rims, I like my 05-06 Type S wheels already. (i might get a set of the 02-04 models with Winter Tires)

Hope you can help.

Thanks! :D

I love my GC/Koni setup and mine's a DD sitting at 1" ish drop all the way around. I originally started out at 1.75" ish drop, but my 225/50/16 rubbers rubbed fender like ****, so raised it up a bit, but didn't really have any clearance issue even with RH/WS2 exhaust, driving around downtown chicago. Got my setup for less than $900 w/o tophats... if you get'em custom sleeved, count on paying lil' more... GL!!!

Did your Konis blow out on you since you got GC? I heard they blow out on drops... ? ?

PIC makes some very good coilovers.

hope not, just got'em a month ago..., and YES, this setup may not be your best option if you're planning on slamming your ride.

FYI, if you have not yet done so, it might be good idea for you to read the suspension thread told by Mustclime, I know it helped me make my setup decision for sure!!!
