I bought a 2000 H22 swap a few weeks back for my 1997 accord. Anyhow needless to say I didn't get a downpipe. I have since found what i believe to be a 1997 H22 downpipe. The only thing is the flexpipe that goes between the catalytic converter and the header downpipe isn't there. There is a flange with three studs for something to bolt to. I thought that on all Prelude's that the braided flex pipe was welded to the downpipe and not bolted therefore making it not detachable. Did they change this in 1997 with the new body or what? I am wondering if this is indeed a H22 downpipe. Any help or pics would be great......

While we are at it here does anyone have this piece that i am referring to? It is the piece between the catalytic converter and the end of the downpipe on the header. It is braided steel flex as stated above. I need one off of a Stock 1997+ non-SH header. Anyone that has changed their header out can you help me here? Thanks for the help guys....
you can use the sh or non sh header. the h22a header only comes in two pieces. the upper portion which is the 4-2 section. then the lower portion which is the 2-1 portion. it will go from the secondaries to teh collector. the flex pipe location is almost exactly the same as on your accord.
i used to have the very same swap you're looking to do. i used to run a 99h22a4 in my 96 accord lx auto converted to manual.
you will need an obd1 conversion or a 96 ecu, not the 2000 ecu you currently have.

Well as fate would have it my 1996 ECU came in the mail today. Thanks for FIREDRAKE
He is a great guy to deal with and he is an excellent source of information also. As far as my question let me clear it up. The flex pipe is the piece that I do not have. The header is supposed to be off a 1997 non-SH car. It is the stock OEM honda downpipe with collector. It does not have the flex pipe made into the downpipe itself. I am wondering if this is indeed off a 1997 prelude or not. I don't have this piece and if I do need it I am going to have to find one. Any help...?

I have a 94 accord with a 2000 h22 and unfortunetely my swap didn't come with a downpipe either...the flex piece is connected to the second half of the header so it sounds like you don't have the correct piece. The header bolts straight to the cat conv. with that flex piece connected to the header downpipe between the two. I had to buy a brand new DC header b/c only a few junkyards had em and they wanted way too much for em.
