Hi guys, thought i'd post up some progress on some radiators i'm making for a guys Austin Mini here in New Zealand.. It's his race car and apparently 1x radiator wont cut it, so 2x it is..
The cores are 325x260x42mm, two rows of tube.
This job is the first aluminum part i've welded with my brand new dynasty 200dx. I'm used to a syncrowave 350lx at work which is a beast, but has a mind of its own to do with arc wandering.
I'm yet to weld on the brackets since he has to take them away, but I just finished these about 20 minutes ago and had to share.

Very nice. I would love to weld like that i guess practice makes perfect, I bought a brand new HTP Invertig 201 two years ago and cant figure out the settings so i got aggravated and have not touched it since.

The only damage I had was the strapping holding my G Size argon cylinder snapped and the cylinder fell on my water cooled torch lead, so I will have to replace that..
I literally booted my girlfriend out of the bed to get her under a door frame.. Never felt anything this bad before

Thanks for sharing the pictures. Did you customize this? My father made the radiator for me because he is a mechanic and he knows the ins and out of radiators. I will also post the pictures soon.

How do you mean Customize? I built the radiators from scratch (Apart from the core)

Alot of people are coming to me with Chinese radiators as samples, they buy them and dont like them and get mine and have no issues.. Lots of referrals.

as I type this i'm still getting aftershocks..
Words cannot describe how scary it was yesterday afternoon..
Welding up a massive scania truck intercooler (630x720x67mm) in overalls, ear plugs, gloves, welding helmet.. Tucked into the corner of my aluminum department at the radiator shop I work at when it started shaking.. 6.3 magnitude earthquake..
Run outside getting thrown left to right throwing off my welding gear to be met with a massive dust plume coming from town where buildings had fallen down..
Couldnt call my partner, cell phones were down.. took me 30-45 minutes to do a normally 5 minute drive.. massive damage, massive liquifaction..
My partner and family is all okay, house is livable but massive cracks in brickwork.. my home workshop/cash cow is a write off.. concrete floor is split in 2 with massive liquifaction..
