99 civic with b20, lately my car has had the dimming headlights and other lights i figured it to be the alternator... before i could replace it, it wouldnt start one morning so i went and got a new alternator and replaced it, now when i go to start the car it wont turn over at all, the radio and ignition come on but thats it, i checked all fuses and nothing, i recharged the battery and it still doesnt turn over....any suggestions? thanks

 

Did you check the safety starter switch at the top of the clutch pedal.

If you wire the starter directly to the battery, does it crank the engine?

 

Jump start? Bump (push) start?

 

i pushed start the car and it turned on, drove around the neighborhood and had it running outside the house, turned it off and went to restart and still wont start...battery was tested and its good idk where to look next

 

it was the clutch pedal sensor after all...had nothing to do with the alternator but it needed to be changed anyways...thanks for the help

 

i dont have a new alternator but mine wont start and it doesnt crank
