AEM Air Bypass Valve
I am just wondering if you guys would use a aem air bypass valve. Has anyone had any experence with one. does it really work. They say it help for hydro lock. Do you really need one is your intake is near the ground? Thanks
I know I'll take heat for this, but I say the bypass valve is a waste of money. It negates the power advantage of CAI vs SRI, and is also unnecessary. I've driven with a CAI for years without trouble, and unless you drive in really really deep water hydrolocking should not happen. You basically have to submerge the entire filter for it to be able to actually suck water into the engine. For that to happen on a stock ride height car you'd have to dip your right front wheel into about a foot of water. Just stay out of deep puddles and you'll be fine.
