Im looking at a b20b my buddy has in his car. It was a b20/vtec at one point, but they put a b20 head back on it. Now its getting no oil to the front cam...i have not looked at it yet, just going off what he said. Has anyone seen of this, heard of this...what should i check out if i go look at it?

 

What headgasket did they use?

 

Im assuming a b20...but they may of bought the one made for a lsvtec....im not sure.

 

looked at it today....failed oil pump.

What kinda damange am i looking at in the bottom end?

Well if the cam journals & cam aren't toast then the bottom end is probably okay, but I would still definitely take off all the main caps & rod caps and verify everything's good instead of assume. And since you would have all the caps off, and half the bearings, change the bearings anyway.
