Is My 04 Accord A CVT Trans?
Getting ready to drain and fill the auto trans on my 04 accord 4 cyl. I have Valvoline Maxlife with Z1. Its says its good for Honda specs except CVTs. Dont know if my accord falls into this category. I believe CVT is not what I have but looking for clarity.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Thanks I didnt think it was a CVT but wanted to make sure.
Not too long ago, Honda had a monopoly on their tranny fluid. These days Castrol, Valvoline, Oreilly etc have a tranny fluid that meets and exceeds the requirements for Honda transmissions (Z1). Your simply spending extra money you dont need to these days if your buying Honda fluid. Its good fluid but so are the others. This is America though and your choice..

I get the Honda fluid from HandAaccessories.com for $5.34/quart, when I order my other maintenance items. The other brands cost just as much, so why mix them and take a chance? If you think these other brands are just as good or better, go for it.
