Default F22A6 auto to manual swap

I'm thinking about doing an automatic to manual transmission swap on my 93 Accord EX. What are my transmission options without having to modify too much? I found a 99 civic transmission on craigslist for $175 and it is complete with the linkage and everything. Would this tranny fit my engine? What are my TCU options for better performance?

Thanks

The civic tranny won't fit your car unless you get the F2D adapter plate which cost some $$$$. Any tranny from an F/H series motor will bolt up. Get the ECU for an F22A6 5 speed and there is no TCU for 5 speed trannys but if you want some performance (but less gas mileage) then go for a H series Tranny.

That's right. I forgot manual transmissions don't need a TCU. I've read that the CPU is different depending on where the car was assembled (Japan vs US) but does it matter for the manual conversion? just go with a CPU from any car with the F22A6 engine and manual tranny?

you can use one from a 90-02 accord, the only thing different that I came across was that the 4th gen and 5th gen have 5 places to mount the mount. You will see there are spot where it looks like there would be something that goes in there, but its just metal. All you have to do is drill and tap these holes, and the mount will bolt right up.

Just last week me and a few friends put a 92 accord gearbox into my 97, and that plus the drilling of the body mount to line it up, were the only major mods to the car to get it to fit.

Sweet. I probably saw like fifteen 90-02 accords at the yunk yard. I just don't remember if any of them where manual tranny. Oh well, it's only $3 to get in.

Thanks
