i'm looking into buying a 92-94 nsx. i have heard some rumors about specific problems with certain year cars. things like snap rings, power window motors, water pumps, etc. going out. anyone have any advice for me?

As Hank noted, the FAQ is excellent. The table of contents is here.

The snap ring affects certain '91-93 cars, identifiable by transmission number. But it's not a dealbreaker. For advice on what to do if you have a snap ring car, go here.

The window problem is preventable with the installation of a $16 part. It's described in the FAQ in the "Power Windows" section under the "Troubleshooting" heading.

These are the only two really serious problems to watch out for.

The water pump recall happened 10 years ago and was minor. However, the thing to watch out for on any '91-95 NSX is that the timing belt and water pump should have been replaced, since it is specified for every 90K miles or 6 years, whichever comes first. It runs ~$1200 and some owners haven't done this yet.

There's a section in the FAQ called "Changes by Year" that should be of interest.

so i should be ok with a 94 that has had the timing belt and water pump replaced?

my father has a 1991 and of all those rumors the only one that happened was the power window broke 3 times.
