so i got a 97 coupe with a jdm b18c swap using the y8 harness with a jdm p72 obd2a ecu skunk2 stage one cams with sk2 cam gears and a sk2 manifold and a bbk throttle body

at first i thought i wasent getting vtec because my speedo wasent working but know it working and no vtec car runs great but no vtec

i dont want to convert to usdm specs only cel im getting is for o2 and yes it a jdm ecu

fyi -- i know that the previous owner thought it was a usdm ecu so he did the jumper to bypass the cps"jdm motors dont have a cps" maybe that my problem that it wired to bypass the cps "when the ecu is not looking for it "or it on the wrong ecu ,should i wire it to stock and try that

here my ecu just so people can confirm it a jdm ecu

 

Try running a wire from ecu to VTEC solenoid

 

ill try but any more info anybody and oil level is fine

 

can anyone tell me excactly what the motor needs to vtec to work this is what i know so far

speedo needs to work
oil level is good
knock sensor needs to be hooked up
vtec soilenod connected
vtec oil pressure switch "only on usdm motors-ecu" connected


is their any more step to take to get vtec to engage

 

Has to be at operating temp

 

got here working the vss was not hooked up to the ecu

 

O2 will stop vtec i have same issue ATM

buddy's jdm GSR did same thing

u also need secondary throttle body's working

and i think u need the vss working also
