91 civic si with ls swap, runs bad!
Hey i got a 91 civic si with a fresh swap in it.
symptoms im having is:
veery rough idles, misses sometimes, chugging a little bit out of exhaust and back fire.
all of these symptoms change wen i mess with the tps sensor
only code i am reading is code 7(tps)
compresiion, spark and fuel are good!
only mods to it is a exhaust system with no o2 hooked up at the moment and cold air intake.
i tried three dif tps sensors, tried adjusting them but cant seem to get it to work right.
it stays running but runs really rough, any ideas??
im guessing its my tps

Get the O2 hooked up and going. If the motor doesn't see the positive feedback from the CTS, IAT, O2, and TPS during open loop (non-full throttle/non-warmup cycle)/normal operation, car will run ragged. As for the TPS adjustment, 3 wires, very easy, one is 12v+, one is Ground, other is 5v+ reference. Measure the 5v+ ref wire with a multimeter while the other end is on ground. Have engine off, key on. Aim for .480-.520 (.500 optimal) with the throttle closed. Lock the sensor in place @ .5v+. Upon wide open throttle, meter should read 4.5xx-ish v+.
Also, is this a OBD0, OBD1 converted (jumper harness), or OBD1 full swap (ECU & Full harness)?
Another thought, if the igniter in the dizzy is starting to go, could cause very similar issues.

ok thanks for that info, gona give it a try tomorow or maybe tonight if i can find a volt meter, the swap and car and ecu is all obdo, and the dizzy is brand new, had origanal dizzy, on it too, its got good plugs and wires, the plugs that came out of it looked great so i know it ran good before the junk yard pulled it. im sure its just the o2 and tps combination.
If all 3 of the tps wires don't have either gnd, 12v+, and output, there could be a problem elsewhere also. The ECU gnd is at the thermostat housing, make sure that is clean, as i've had swap cars with bad grounding and odd issues.
So long as you have at least 1 good ground that isn't corroded, you'll be okay. More the merrier obviously, but if you need to ask if it looks okay, it probably isn't.

got the tps to work. No cel lite. All grounds are good. Timing is good fuel at 35 psi ish. Double checked everything and cant figure out y it has that chug. sounds like a scooby
i think i found the reason to my problem, i took off the number 3 and 4 cylinder spark plug wires and it ran the same, so oviously it isnt getting enough spark, dizzy is new, i think all i need is new plugs and wires!
lets hope for the best lol

just checked my wires and dizzy with multimeter,
dizzy checks out 14v at primary and seconndary terminals and at coil.
wires are anywhere to 9k ohm to 15k ohms

can anyone help me out still chugging
i got fuel
i got spark
i got compression
timing is good
everything checks out good but i cant figure this out
the two wire plug that goes to dizzy has 11.5 to 12.7 volts, is that too low?

@op, did u fix this problem? I'm having the same issue, no codes and running like a subie on a fresh swap.
when you converted the car to mpfi did you switch the two outside wires for the tps. If not then the computer will think the tps is wide open when it is closed and vice versa.
