A buddy of mine just put in a SLR Motorsports chip in his Accord & he says that it's worked wonders, especially in high RPM's. I looked on their website www.slrmotorsports.com & they claim a 50 HP/tq increase on ALL cars. Is this true or is this BS? Anybody used this product? Thanks in advance!
It's a resistor that gets installed and tricks the ECU into thinking one thing or another is different than it really is. It's similar to what you do with a VAFC, but at least a VAFC is programmable. And there's no way this hack will give +50hp/tq regardless of engine size... You tell me, do you think it sounds legit?
i had a new genesis come to the shop wanting to get on the dyno and had one of these wired into the maf sensor. Made one pull with it on and one pull with it removed and nothing changed.
good luck.

It's not actually a chip, though. It's just a box with a resistor in it. You install it in between the ECU and whatever sensor the directions specify. MAF, MAP, IAT for example.

SLR performance chips are wicked! This is the easiest thing I’ve installed on my teg’ and the one performance part that’s added the most! I swear it gains more than the 50 horsepower that it’s claimed to bring! My intake, headers, and exhaust all even function better because my motor is being tuned for them. My friends have spent thousands on engine swaps and turbo setups, I spent $80 and smoke them!

I installed this on my sickle bar mower and dang the results were astonishing. It increased the top speed from 1.5 mph to 34mph. I can knock down the ditch in a fraction of the time.
yea as stated, its a resistor, probably something like a 52k ohm which tricks the computer into thinkning its like 32 degrees outside via IAT, in turn running a fatter mixture of fuel.
It is fraud! All they gotta do is say its better than hondata and they will get sued. or rename the resistor davebundell, im sure they will get sued then. im sry i should let it go, i just cant!

Its kinda like selling a bag of dog ****, somebody is bound to be stupid enough to think it tastes like cherry's. that resistor deal, along with that hydrogen assist, has gotta be the biggest automotive scam. lets get a bottle of water and make >1gram of hydrogen per hour and claim to gain 60mpg. right! good sales pitch will sell anything.
OMG thanks guys. For the life of me I couldn't find anything for my Ferarri 456 GT. It's not as new so Ferarri doesn't offer upgrades, and no tuner will really touch it because it's so costly.
But $69 for 50hp, I'm all over that like flies on bullshit!

Can you get your buddy to take apart the black box and take some pictures. Then come back and show us what's in it. I'd really like to know and I'm not wasting $70 just to rip it apart.
I find it funny that the one box works for all 5 generations of Accord. That's two OBD types and 6 different engines that it works for. All without any program modification.

so I was dumb enough to fall for it (should have checked here first) and so I willtry to put up the pic of the guts in this thing. Kind of lame looking so I guess I did get scammed...could have been worse
The SLR Motorsports performance chip is a scam as you would expect.
It's just a 16 leg chip with 2 wires soldered on 2 legs, and very poorly at it!! I managed to pry the chip that was superglued to see if there was any markings on it. Nothing.
Hahahaha!!!
