Alternator problem ?????????
I was driving home yesterday when all of the suden my battery light in my cluster started to come on and of,and like a rattle noise started in the engine compartment. So i decided to drive it home the noise would come and go and the light in the cluster stayed on,i just had a fealing that it had to be the alternator.I decided to take it out as i loosen the bracket bolts on the top i neaded to take the pivot bolt out to remove the alternator come to find out there was not one in there. So i thought nothing of it and took the Alt to get tested at Aoutozone well go figure the Alt passed so this is were i stand.Do you guys think that due to the pivot bolt gone the alternator got loose and my car was just runing on the battery and just draining it,and maybe that is why my light came on? Or someone else has had the same problem and can help me solve this issue. Please help.
hmm odd, have you put another bolt in it so its secure? and perhaps the plugs got a little loose so yeah it was prolly just running on the battery youll be fine if you put the bolt back in and make sure it doesnt move anymore
same thing happened to me... the bolt came out some how while driving... but it ended screwing my alternator bearing... but it happens alot at least from what i heard. just put a little blue locktite when using the new bolt.. no worries after that
