Best SuperWhite Headlights
I was just wondering what people found to be the best superwhite bulb. I just love the way they look on the car vs stock lights. The problem i found is most of them look cool but suck *** for lighting up the road. What brand have you all found to be the best for looks and functionality.
Thanks guys...

all of that APC garbage is crappy (and looks cheap) ---- if you must go headlight change, you must go Silverstar --- but if you have the means, Phillips 6000k HID is the way to go!

6000K and higher HID kits are to normal 4300K HID, just as blue and superwhite headlight bulbs are to normal headlights (less light output).
Silverstar 9005 bulbs converted to go in your projector housing truly is IMHO the best you can get for a halogen bulb.

Are silverstars that much better? I just did a headlight conversion on my Jeep and they require H4/9003's and the silverstar isn't available in that model. Am I missing out?
What do the silverstars and cool blues look like? Are they superwhite blueish or a genuine super 'White'? I've been trying different brands for about 2 years now and appearance wise I'd say the naxos bulbs look the nicest in terms of looking cool\ HIDish. Same deal with Hiper but they arent as blue. They don't light up the road all that great though, however, they do make all the white reflector sticker stuff on traffic signs and etc really glow. Road reflectors too.
I am considering trying out the silverstars and\or superblues in a 9005 conversion because my 9006's arent cutting it. thanks in advance for the info...

Here's the truth about Silverstars and the 9005 conversion:
Hands down converting the Integra low beam bulbs to 9005 is the BEST low-buck method for getting a sizable increase in light output (w/o switching to HID). Now, the difference in light output between a plain clear 9005 (yellowish look, but not as much as 9006), a Cool Blue 9005 (less yellow than regular 9005), and Silverstar (white, plain and simple) is really not that much. The only difference is color and price. I personally would not recommend Silverstars if you're only going to get them in 9006. If you have $50 to spend, definitely get them in 9005 and do the conversion. I had them for 4 months and loved them. However one burned out on me one night (most likely defective bulb, didn't explode or anything), and I just couldn't justify spending that much money to replace it, when I already had a set of 9005 Cool Blues laying around that were still good. I still get the same light output, just not quite as white as the Silverstars. They are definitely whiter than the headlights of most other cars, though. Best part is that the Cool Blues can sometimes be found in a pair from Wal-Mart for as little as $15-$20.
Cliff notes: If you have $50, get 9005 Silverstars. If you can't spend that much, get 9005 Cool Blues.
*edit* my 9005 Cool Blues have lasted me well over a year now without problems.

In converting the 9006 low beam to a 9005, do the bulbs just simply plug in or do you have to find a different type of connector for the bulb? If it's just a simple plug in, than I'm definately going to do that.
YEP! PIAA XTREME's are my pick. I have been through almost every bulb out there and these look and work the best. Not too bright or too dim (which means the cops won't notice you that much at night).
