DC5 vs DC2 recaros...
the way the rails bolt to the bottom of the seats are the same, its the pattern in which it bolts to the floor which differs
and theres not really any difference in comfort or way the seats feel, iv sat in both, owned dc2 recaro's, and they pretty much feel the same
make your decision based on which you think looks better

DC2R Recaros are SR3 based, whereas DC5R Recaros are SR4s. The main differences are the size of the logo, the shape of the harness hole area and the DC5 seats are a little wider/larger. I like the SR4s in my DC5R
. Also the DC5R seats are available in blue and the DC2R ones are not.
Also as above the bolt pattern on the bottom of the seats is the same, but a DC5 rail won't fit a DC2 obviously.

The seats feel A LOT different to me... the DC5R recaros seem much more forgiving and loose (they are a larger seat) imo they are more DD'able then my DB8R recaros were.

i've personally used both seats in my car.
i LOVE the dc5 recaro....what i did not like was the material on the side bolsters (alcantara?)
just seemed like it would take alot of wear and tear from daily driving and getting in and out of the seat. i recently sold my dc5 recaro and matched up my SR3 drivers seat with a speed passenger seat. they are almost identical...besides the fact that the speed seat sits a tad higher.
its a hard choice...but i pick the sr3 (dc2)

there was discussion about ep3 stock seats being made by recaro or something, but I called up my buddy at honda and was told that they(ep3/dc5) are not made by Recaro... please correct me if I'm wrong...
...isn't that Recaro LIKE leather seats, custome made by someone???

No those are stock DC5-S Recaro seats reupholstered in cheesy red. And there is no way your buddy can know the orgin of seats just by working at Honda. I worked at a Honda dealer for 5 years. Nobody tells us who the parts are made by. I dont know about about ep3 seats but I know for a fact that Type S seats are recaros. I only gave 1 example. more searching on the subject will yield more results.
I'm just curious about this, so don't take it the wrong way bro... and I really couldn't find any discussion about oem type-s being made by Recaro, so I emailed Recaro to see if they could help me clear this up. I'll keep it posted once I hear back from them..., that's if I hear back from them, LOL...
yeah, I wasn't sure about dc5, so my bad, but as for the ep3 seats, I ended up callin my buddy at RightHonda dealer in Scottsdale AZ finance director and he made some calls and told me that various parts that went into its assemblying of seats were from three/four different countries and they were not sourced from Recaro company.

im using a recaro SR3 (dc2-r recaro) in my car. you can use a bottom mount bracket/slider specifically made for a DC5 and it should work.

To add and to clarify, you can put in DC2 Recaros into a DC5/EP3 by using OEM DC5R Recaro rails. I had DC5 Recaros in my old 92 Civic hatch using DC2R rails (straight bolt-on).

best investment I ever did!
