alright guys have a 99 ex with jdm d15b its throwing a code for idle air malfunction ive replaced the idle air and cleaned out the throttle body replaced the throttle body and everything and it still is throwing this code...do you think that since im still running the stock 99ex ecu that this could have something to do with it or not because i mean there pretty much the same motors and everything but just not sure tried everything and still cant get no where with it if anybody has any suggestions about this let me know thanks

Well the jdm d15b can only use a p28 or p08 ecu... the only diff between them is the p28 ecu hits vtec earlier... I don't think the stock 99 ex ecu is going to work... considering the 99 ex motor is a lot newer than the d15b... It might have different parts for the 99 ex ecu doesnt recognize or the d15b might not have some parts at all... I used a p07 ecu on my d15b and i kept getting the code 41 for the ho2s( heated o2 sensor heater) and there was nothing I could do about it, with a stock p28 I got no codes and it ran fine, just get a p28 and you will be golden.

Hmm well that I don't know about, sorry... mine is obd1 so all my advice was for that... I mean I don't think it would make that much of a difference... but since a p28 is obd1 then it wouldnt work... you still might have to use that ecu because, like i said before, it recognizes totally different sensors and parts than the 99ex one... but might have to convert it to obd2?... I don't know lol... sorry for the misunderstanding...

my 98 has a d15b and i was getting this code and i had to readjust the throttle screw turn it all the way to the right and reset the ecu and see if it goes away if so the you need a live data reading obd2 scanner and readjust the rpms at idle to 750 ish ,......the rpms gauge on the dash is off that's way you need the scanner,............good luck
