Default 94 Honda accord help

I have been working on this issue for a while, but I am making very little headway.

The issue: my check engine light comes on as soon as I turn on the car under all circumstances(cold or hot). When I put the car into d4 the light starts to flash. I ran the diagnostics from the computer and got a code of 6. From what I understand that is the Engine coolant sensor. My car is running extremely hot so it seems to be accurate. I am also pretty sure my fans are not turning on, because I got the car extremely hot with the air conditioner turned on and did not see them turn on.

I have replaced 1 of the 2 sensors, I have bypassed the sensors, I checked the fuses, and checked the fan motor to make sure it works outside of the car.

I am going to check the relay, but I am having issues finding it.

The flashing MIL is a catalyst damaging misfire. This is not good. You most likely have a failed headgasket and/or a cracked cylinder head or engine block due to the overheating.

I will look into that, but I need help getting my fans to start for now.

The fan relay is in the underhood fuse box. There should be two of them. Though there are two relays they should always come on together. For some reason, Honda even calls them Radiator and Condensor fans ( seperately ) even though they both come on together. Never understood that.

You need to make sure you have a ground path from the fans. If you have no path to the positive side of the battery you need to find where power is lost. You obviously know that.

I checked the relays, and now when I bypass the censor the fan spins. My engine is cold, and still giving me the engine light on solid w/d4 flashing. Again the computer gave 6 short blinks w/ d4 blinking with the last check engine light blink when I reread the computer.

I thought you meant the check engine light was flashing. I misread your first post.

Bad sensor or an air pocket around the sensor would be my guess if the fans cycle when you jump the connector. I can't recall the specs for the sensor but there is a resistance value you can put against known temperature to see if the sensor is bad. From what you say, there is a good chance that it is.

thanks for the responses btw.

I got the fan's to start on their correct cycle. I have no issues with the engine, aka no weird sounds, no hunting, no leaks, and all fluids are normal. Plus my car shifts gears smoothly. my current theory is that the check engine light + d4 light is sensor issue on the transmission.
