Default tension release for belt on alternator

How do I release the tension on the alternator belt on a 2002 Accord Dx, V-tec?

Default Re: tension release for belt on alternator

if it's serpentine belt system...you use either the belt tool (available for loan at car parts store) or a large locking plier to pull the belt tensioner back to make slack

if it's a multi-belt system....you will need to loosen the adjuster bolts on the alternator itself and pivot it to make room
