Steering rack interchangeability?
Will a manual rack from a 91 CRX Si fit onto a 90 Hatchback DX (that has POWER steering) without modification?
I thought I saw a conversation somewhere about complications from the rear crossmember design. The problem being that there is one crossmember for the manual steering rack, and a different crossmember for the power steering rack.
I didn't find a specific answer in the FAQ.

YES-There are two different cross members for manual and power steering racks
YES-You can bolt a non power rack to a power rack cross member with both bushings.

Thank you very much, Clipsed. I'm changing the racks next week.
It took a lot of views to get this answer. I bet if I had posted pictures of my "hella tyte" JDM muffler bearings, people would have had all kinds of input.

Rack Swap Completed.
My thoughts... there are 2 "sides" of the steering rack (be it manual or power)... The side that bolts directly to the crossmember (driver side) and the side that is held in place with a bracket (passenger side). The Power rack has a larger circumfrence than the manual rack, and therefore has a larger bracket. The brackets are differentiated by "PS" or "MS" stamped on the bracket.
There is a rubber bushing surrounding the rack where the bracket bolts on. To do the swap, I simply put the bushing from the power rack over the manual bushing and bolted it all up with the "PS" bracket. Its solid, works great, and looks great.
I'm acquiring a "MS" bracket, and hope to eliminate the power steering bushing.
